MONTAŽA
Piano interlocking roof and wall cladding is a relatively new product on our market, but it gained long ago an excellent reputation throughout Europe. Thanks to its exceptional characteristics, universality in application and, above all, its excellent appearance, Piano interlocking panel cladding is also becoming a standard in this country.
With regard to its appearance Piano Piano is reminiscent the most of classic felt sheet panel, and indeed Piano is its significantly advanced variant.
Particular convenient is Piano interlocking panel cladding’s broad spectrum of application in a variety of roof and wall substructures.
Piano may be laid in one layer onto the flat plate or roof boards, or in two layers, in combination with trapezoidal profile roofing sheets. The modern and innovative profile provides for installation over the entire roof and façade without a single visible bolt, which is a frequent investors’ requirement. Elegant reinforcements along the length of the profile create a striking appearance.
Substructure preparation
Piano roof cladding may be laid onto roofs with slopes which are not below 3°. In the roof sheet panel option, Piano may be laid onto flat boarding substructure. Prior to laying the roof cladding, vapour permeable and water impermeable foil underlays are installed and the roof profiles are fixed at every 30-50 cm. Before installation, the roof angle is checked, i.e. if the roof substructure is set at a 90° angle. If this is not the case, it is necessary to determine the deviations which in turn will affect the manner in which they are to be redressed, through either lateral cutting or minor corrections at panel joints.
One-layer roof cladding installation
In case of one-layer cladding installation, boarding of the entire roof plate is recommended, although it is not a prerequisite for this type of installation. Foil is laid onto the boarded roof and then batten boards are laid longitudinally and transversely spanning 30-50 cm in length. Piano may be installed directly onto the foil without previously laying batten boards. In addition, Piano may be installed onto the previously prepared steel substructure.
Laying panels in the longitudinal direction is necessary if the client has decided for some reason that the cladding should be carried out by laying two or more panels in a vertical row. On roofs whose pitch is below 8 % (1:7), the minimum overlapping should be 500 mm. On roofs whose pitch is above 8 %, the minimum overlapping is 250 mm.
Roof and wall sandwich panel cladding
Except for one-layer wall cladding option, sandwich panel cladding with thermal insulation may also be installed. In such a case, the structure of roof or façade is as follows:
1. Internal profiled metal sheet
2. PVC foil (vapour barrier)
3. Substructure
4. Thermal insulation
5. Vapour permeable and water impermeable foil
6. External profiled metal sheet
Gutter with gutter board
As with other types of roof cladding, the installation begins with the gutter and gutter board which closes the space between the roof cladding and the gutter.
Wall sheathing
Wall sheathing is used in places where cladding material reaches the wall and is intended to prevent rainwater from penetrating the interior of the building, i.e. moisture on the walls, as well as collect rainwater and channel it to the gutter. Wall sheathing is installed after the laying of roof cladding.
Bargeboard
Bargeboard’s primary functions are to provide protection for roof cladding from the lateral impact of wind and to protect purlins, but they also have an aesthetic function. Bargeboards are installed after the laying of Piano roof cladding.
Ridge tile
There are several models of ridge tiles, varying in appearance and installation method, which are used for roof cladding. Typically, there are ridge tiles which are laid flatly onto the profiled part of Piano profile or ridge tiles are cut so that it would fit into the profiled part.
