Roof tile panels Mediteraneo
Spoj klasične estetike i savremenih materijala.
Mediteraneo – where classic aesthetics meets contemporary materials – is a product made of Zinc-and PVC-coated sheet metal meeting all the requirements in terms of its technical, mechanical and chemical properties. Another important advantage is freedom to choose colouring – the finishing layer may be made as requested by the customer, hence roof planes may match the façade in terms of materials and colours, retaining in the process the classic aesthetics of a sloping roof.
Advantages are reflected in aesthetics, light weight, speed of roofing installation and durability.
Mediteraneo is manufactured using state-of-the-art technologies and processing methods, and the production line itself is automated.

MEDITERANEO - installation instruction
To build a quality and functional roof, it is necessary to prepare roof substructure which entails roof boarding and installation of vapour permeable and water impermeable foil underlays ensuring proper ventilation of the roof construction. In addition, it is necessary to lay longitudinal (vertical) and transversal (horizontal) batten boards.
The manner in which the batten boards are to be laid is shown in the picture. The minimum height of longitudinal (vertical) batten board is 12 mm whereas transversal (horizontal) batten board standard size is 30×50 mm (minimum 25×50 mm). It is very important to ensure that batten boards are properly laid.
Check if the roof substructure is set at a 90° angle. If this is not the case, it is necessary to align the first plate with the eaves and to cut the lateral part of the tile plate and align it with the roof construction.
Ridge tile
Ridge tiles are laid following the installation of roof cladding. Profiled fillers are laid before ridge tiles although they may well be laid without fillers.
Ridge tiles are fixed through tile ribs with roofing bolts 70 mm long (4 pieces per metre).
Snow guards
Linear snow guards, 1250 mm long, are used on roof tile cladding, but they may also be used to break the snow. Snow guards are attached through tile ribs with roofing bolts 70 mm long (4 pieces per metre). How many snow guards are to be installed depends on the length of the roof plate, roof slope and climate. A minimum of 2 rows of snow guards (or 3 rows in a zig-zag pattern) should be installed on roof plates up to 6 m long, whereas 3 rows (or 4 rows in a zig-zag pattern) should be installed on roof plates longer than 6 m. The layout of roof snow guards is shown in the picture.
Installation of roof cladding and associated elements
Gutters are used to drain rainwater from a roof and the gutter board closes the space between roof cladding and the gutter. Clips are installed first ensuring the appropriate gradient, followed by the gutters and the gutter board.
Vetar lajsna
Wall board is intended to protect the wall in places where roof cladding reaches the wall as well as to prevent penetration of rainwater into the building and to channel rainwater into gutters. Depending on its type, wall boards are installed before or after roof cladding is laid.
Wall board
Roof valley
Roof valley may collect and drain rainwater, but also serve as a gutter. Roof valleys are installed prior to laying of roof cladding.
Chimney sheathing
Chimney sheathing serves the same purpose as the wall sheathing. Installation takes place at a point when the roof cladding is also being laid.
Roof window
Roof window comes with previously prepared sheathing so that the installation is simple. The standards is that the roof window sheathing matches the roof cladding colour.
Mansard joint
In case of a mansard roof, roof cladding is installed on the façade part first, and then the sheathing, followed by the roof cladding on the roof itself.
Installation of roof tile cladding
Roof tile cladding is typically supplied as panels whose length is equal to the length of roof plate. In case the roof plate length is large (over 7m), the recommendation is to install roof cladding in 2 or more pieces where 100 mm in length should be added to each panel for each overlapping. Overlapping panels should have regular beginning and ending (n tiles x 350 mm +100 mm for the beginning and the end of the tile).
Roof tile cladding panels extend 70 mm longer over the length of the roof plate. This part of the cladding extends over the eaves into the gutter, which should be taken into account when placing an order and installing the cladding.
Herein we endeavoured to present somewhat more complicated roof type with many slopes of different shapes.
Installation of roof cladding – type A
Following the installation of sheathing beneath the cladding, the laying of roof cladding may begin. Cladding is typically laid from the right side to the left (eaves towards crest tiles). Particular attention should be paid to installation of the first panel which must be aligned with the eave, and if the roof substructure is not set at a 90° angle, it is necessary to cut the lateral part of the first panel in order to align it with the roof construction.
Installation of roof cladding – type B
With such roof panels, longer panels are laid first, followed by the shorter ones. The shorter panels must have regular beginning and ending (n tiles x 350 mm +100 mm for the beginning and the end of the tile). Upon the installation of shorter panels, if they extend more than 70 mm over the eaves, it is necessary to cut them to measure on the eaves.
Installation of roof cladding – type C
With this type of roof cladding, it is necessary to take into account that all roof cladding panels to be laid on the roof slope must have regular beginning and ending (n tiles x 350 mm +100 mm for the beginning and the end of the tile).
Whilst installing, panels to be laid on the roof slope are cut in their lower part and adapted to the shape of the roof construction.
Installation of roof cladding – types D and E
With such panels, it is necessary to lay the longest panels first, and then panels on the slopes, which need to be cut on the slope to adapt to the shape of the roof construction.
Installation of roof cladding on the roof plate with dormer and chimney
In this case the installation starts from the right side, and in places where the roof panels reach the chimney or dormer, lower roof panels are laid first. This is followed by shaping the panels to fit the shape of the chimney or dormer and installing them. It is important to point out that roof sheathing need to be installed prior to the installation of roof cladding.
